some stories have beginings
while some tales never end
but this thing it had no sooner started
than it was crumbling again

oh this must surely be a self-fulfilling prophecy
i thought this time that i would be released
from the entropy of hope
that keeps me hanging on a rope
choking the life right out of me

she ran away
she ran into the dark
and left me standing with a hole in my heart
i wish she'd not confused me
but been braver instead
and left me cooling on the floor
believing me dead

it seemed such a simple question
yet her words were menacing and soft
wielding suspicion like a handgun
cocked and ready to go off

without rebuttal or denial i am condemed without a trial
as a chameleon deciever with a silky little hook
baited with the promises that only she could hear
the injustices so brazzen
they're still ringing in my ears

she ran away

the moral of this story is don't bother with the book
if you're expecting happy endings
and an everlasting love

'cause a romantic with a true heart will perdanticly persue
yet still forget the simple fact
that inspite of good intensions
ignoring wise advice that mentions
opposits will always attract
